Born Deaf and raised by the vibrant Deaf community in Corpus Christi, Texas, Katie's journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Her story begins with a unique twist—her mother learned sign language while pregnant with her, setting the stage for her deep connection to Deaf culture from the very start.
Later, Katie's quest for adventure led her to the bustling city of San Francisco, California, where she continued to grow her identity and sign language skills.
She later had another adventure, directing a year-round wilderness program tailored for the Deaf and hard of hearing community in the picturesque landscapes of Colorado. This experience not only shaped her leadership skills but also reinforced her belief in the power of connection.
Katie is a lifelong learner, holding both an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Management and Marketing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her dedication to personal and business effectiveness extends beyond her role at AGP—she also owns 52 Alliance, a business focused on providing strategic, operational, marketing, and funding support to nonprofits and small businesses.
As a passionate advocate for cultural leadership, Katie offers valuable training to businesses and allies. She firmly believes that accessible entertainment enriches the lives of not only the Deaf and hard of hearing community but also artists, businesses, and partners behind every performance.
Currently residing in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, with her mountain biking partner and a playful black Pomeranian, Katie's warm-hearted spirit and dedication to making the world more accessible make her an invaluable member of our team at AGP.
